New Found Gold is a Canadian gold producer with assets in central Newfoundland and Labrador. Its portfolio includes a 100% interest in the Queensway Gold Project, the Hammerdown Operation, the fully licensed Pine Cove Mill and tailings facility, and the Nugget Pond Hydrometallurgical Gold Plant. Under the EPCM contract, the scope of work includes Queensway site development, as well as the detailed engineering required to upgrade and expand the offsite Pine Cove Mill, enabling it to process feed from both Queensway Phase 1 and the Hammerdown Operation through a single facility.
Newfoundland’s mineral production history dates back to the 1800s, but limited capital investment over the past two centuries slowed the pace of new discoveries. Since the late 1980s, however, exploration activity has increased markedly, resulting in more than 100 registered gold occurrences across the province. Many of these have produced gold or remain in operation today, including several located within the mineral‑rich historic Baie Verte Mining District, home to the Hammerdown and Pine Cove Operations.
