Many countries around the globe face development hurdles created by poverty, political turmoil, war and other issues. These countries often do not have the resources or training to facilitate progress.
MCC awarded WSP two of the first support contracts to aid countries in improving agriculture, transportation, water resources, financial planning, technology and other services.
WSP’s MCC assignments have included:
- Assisting in rebuilding highways and roads throughout Honduras.
- Providing procurement services in the development of agro-industrial zones and updating the infrastructure and industrial zones at Bamako Senou Airport in Mali.
- Conducting a due diligence study and providing independent engineering services for a 225-kilometer road project linking Samtskhe-Javakheti with Tbilisi in the nation of Georgia.
- Conducting a study on shipping trade and how it could be improved through the rehabilitation of the Port of Praia in Cape Verde.
