WSP has secured a place on Network Rail’s Operational Programme Delivery (OPD) Framework to provide engineering services (Lot 5) in a three to six-year framework worth approximately £5m.
The engineering professional services consultancy is unique in also providing multi-disciplinary design services to Network Rail through the national Design Services Framework, which it was awarded in 2020.
WSP will apply its global expertise to deliver a range of services, including railway signaling, traffic management, SCADA, rolling stock, electrification, interoperability and systems integration. Through its well-connected global community, WSP has provided the expertise needed to support the delivery of high profile, transformative and technology change programmes for clients including HS2, Crossrail and Cross River Rail in Australia.
Darren Reed, MD of WSP UK Rail, said: “We are committed to helping Network Rail deliver a railway that puts the passenger first and we look forward to applying the expertise that has seen us deliver various complex schemes, and at various stages of development, around the world.
“Using our innovation and sustainability programme, Future Ready, we will provide engineering solutions that support the rail technical strategy to help realise greater social, economic and environmental benefits.”
