The UK team works with clients in Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Australia, and has developed a comprehensive suite of bespoke SID3 rail systems integration tools and techniques based on proven systems engineering methodologies.
Our experience
The more complex the programme the greater the need for strong systems engineering. Our experts apply integrated planning to eliminate uncertainty and deliver large interdisciplinary programmes. On the vast Greater West Programme, for example, we have developed a deep programme level understanding of the interdependencies between overlapping projects and the diverse needs of stakeholders.
Other projects where we are applying these tools and techniques include The Deep Tube Upgrade Programme, UK. Since 2013, WSP has been working closely with London Underground to coordinate this complex series of upgrades through a number of specialist services, including system integration management, requirements management, systems architectures, interface management, migration planning and configuration management. The programme will greatly improve the way many of us travel across our capital, and it’s exciting to be at the heart of it.
Our UK team has also provided Requirements Management, Interface Management and Technical Assurance on High Speed 2 Phase One and Phase Two.
WSP’s systems engineering and integration team provided the systems architecture for the Red Line. This will introduce an integrated advanced mass transit system in central Israel, which will fuel economic, social, and urban growth.”
For the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (Dubai RTA) in the Middle East, we are introducing a robust configuration management framework to help procure software and set up processes to capture essential information about the client’s Dubai Metro assets, which includes two metro lines and a light-rail tram system. This comes as Dubai, the most densely populated city in the United Arab Emirates, prepares for an influx of visitors ahead of the next World Expo, which it is hosting in 2020.
