Reflecting on their time in Rwanda, participants described the experience as deeply transformative and one that will remain with them for years to come. Many spoke of personal growth, newfound confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Others emphasized the powerful connections formed and the immediate, positive impact on the community. Across the board, there was a shared appreciation for stepping outside familiar routines, embracing new challenges and learning from the diverse perspectives of those involved.
Perhaps most importantly, the volunteers want others to know that anyone can contribute, regardless of background or expertise. “You don’t have to be a bridge engineer; we all played a role in it,” Pangborn said. The message is clear: with passion, teamwork and a willingness to learn, anyone can help bridge the gap between communities and opportunity.
Bridges to Prosperity represents what’s possible when technical expertise meets compassion and collaboration. For WSP, these bridge builds empower communities and foster global teamwork. These bridges do not simply span rivers; they bridge lives. Each structure opens new pathways to hope, opportunity and lasting change, transforming the landscape and the future for generations to come.
