Leading engineering and environmental professional services consultancy WSP has been appointed by Somerset Council to deliver a broad range of consultancy services through a new sole-supplier partnership.
This new relationship will provide Planning, Design, Engineering and Placemaking support to Somerset Council which became a unitary authority on 1 April 2023.
The partnership is due to last up to eight years and commences on 18 July 2023. It will positively contribute to the council’s strategies to reduce carbon and generate social value within Somerset’s communities.
Mickey Green, Executive Director, Climate and Place at Somerset Council, said: “Both the County Council and the new Council have had an extremely fruitful working relationship with WSP on a number of key projects and we look forward to building on that support and knowledge as we move towards our net zero target for Somerset.”
David Stephens, Managing Director for Local Government at WSP, said: “We’re delighted to be appointed by Somerset Council as its new partner to deliver a broad range of consultancy services.
