Part of the $1.4 billion, award-winning redevelopment of King’s Cross St Pancras station, the Northern Ticket Hall was delivered on time and under budget, with savings of $79 million in phase 1 alone.

The project involved the planning and delivery of a new five-story underground ticket hall that was built "top-down" – with the substructure and superstructure constructed simultaneously, to minimize delivery timescales over six years.

Gaining significant industry recognition, the project won the Construction News Project of the Year Award in 2010 and was commended by the judges as being "head and shoulders" above all other entries. “The key was a fully integrated project team of the client, designers, contractor and full supply chain delivering the most complex engineering and logistical challenge to the highest quality and below budget.”

 

In the same year, the program also won the Institution of Civil Engineers' "Major Project of the Year" award.
