Our experts brought deep expertise in estate strategy development across local, national and international contexts. We provided end-to-end support, including data-driven diagnostics and analysis, stakeholder engagement across system partners, strategic planning and project management, and document authoring and submission readiness.

The strategy was built using NHS England’s ‘Where, Where, How’ – in line with NHS England’s Infrastructure Strategy Toolkit. It also integrated key national and regional enablers such as the South East London Green Plan, Digital Strategy, Workforce Plan, Local Care Partnership 5-Year Forward Views, Primary Care Network (PCN) estate strategies and borough-level estate priorities.

Working collaboratively with Trust stakeholders, our specialists helped define actions across four critical pillars, including Leadership, People and Capability, Data and Evidence, and Investment.

• Leadership: Establishing strong leadership at all levels, balancing central guidance with local delivery
• People and Capability: Building capacity and improving recruitment and retention in the estates workforce
• Data and Evidence: Embedding data-driven decision-making and asset management practices
• Investment: Developing a prioritised pipeline of capital projects to support efficient and sustainable investment   

By mapping out target actions, we helped transform ambition into delivery – giving the Trust a clear, implementable roadmap to deliver meaningful, measurable change.

The resulting 10-year strategy sets a clear vision for the future of health and care estates in South East London. It includes SMART objectives to guide delivery, a detailed implementation plan (covering short-term actions across a 12-24-month-period as well as medium-and long-term priorities), and identification of new workstreams for ICS partners. 

This strategy lays the groundwork for delivering integrated, effective and sustainable health and care services, aligned with clinical, operational and population health needs.
