Q: How do I apply for the Cadetship Programme at WSP?
A: We accept our applications online for our annual intake. Applications typically open sometime in September/October.
Q: What do I need to include with my online application?
A: You will need a current copy of your CV and your most recent transcripts (an unofficial copy is acceptable, and we anticipate you will have courses pending results).
Q: When do applications close?
A: Applications typically close 2 to 3 weeks from the opening date. Once applications open, please look to our role advertisement for the close date.
Q: Where can I work?
A: We have 40 offices across New Zealand. In addition to our main centres of Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton, and Wellington, we have regional businesses across New Zealand. We have a network of 25 offices and 10 laboratories from Whangarei down to Invercargill.
Q: When will I start working?
A: Our Cadetship Programme begins early in the year before diploma courses begin. There is some flexibility on start date if required, so please be sure to specify your availability in your application.
Q: What salary does WSP offer?
A: We offer a competitive salary, which varies slightly depending on your level of current qualification.
Q: How do I know if I am eligible?
A: You will have at minimum completed your NCEA Level 2 by the end of the year with at least 48 credits at Level 2. You will have an interest and strength in mathematics and science as well as a desire to study toward a diploma in Civil Engineering or Surveying. You will also be legally allowed to drive in New Zealand on your own.
Q: What is the application process?
A: Our application process is simple. The first step is to complete an application online. Successful candidates will then have an interview with the relevant team. The final step is for successful candidates to be offered a role.
Q: Do I need to have work experience?
A: No, previous work experience is not required.
Q: What if I am already studying for a diploma in Civil Engineering or Surveying?
A: You are welcome to apply for our Cadetship Programme if you are in your first year of study.
