Our multidisciplinary teams work with clients to enhance grid stability, support renewables and protect critical access by improving reliability, integrating dispatchable power and implementing new generation and battery storage systems.

We support clients across the full lifecycle of power generation systems — whether modernising existing infrastructure or deploying next-generation technologies on greenfield sites. Our work includes upgrading and optimising existing plants to enhance efficiency, safety and environmental performance. We also help clients integrate dispatchable power, supporting their transition to resilient, lower-carbon energy systems.

We implement advanced power generation solutions—including geothermal, solar, renewable natural gas — and battery energy storage systems that improve reliability, support renewable integration and safeguard critical assets. Our extensive experience and skills have been developed from involvement in many of New Zealand's most significant power projects. WSP has strengths and experience in geothermal energy, wind energy and hydropower, working for all the major electricity generation companies.

We have supported the renewable energy sector for some time, including working on the maintenance and construction of geothermal plants and providing technical design and engineering development and commissioning.
