At WSP, we genuinely care about our people. We’re proud of our positive, mature culture that prioritises safety, health, and wellbeing. We recognise that everyone’s needs are different, which is why our wellbeing strategy is designed to offer inclusive and accessible support for all. As part of this, our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provides confidential guidance and resources on a wide range of wellbeing topics; for both you and your immediate family. You’ll be able to explore more about this and other wellbeing support on our Canopy pages once you’ve settled in.

At WSP, we believe in balancing profit with purpose—and social value is at the heart of that commitment. It’s a key part of our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy and reflects how we support the communities where we live and work. Whether it’s creating opportunities, reducing inequalities, or improving access to health, education, and digital services, we’re proud to make a meaningful difference. Between 2022 and 2024, we set ourselves a voluntary target of generating £120 million in social value and we far exceeded it, delivering £344 million. Looking ahead, we’ve set an even more ambitious goal: £500 million in social value by the end of our 2025–27 strategic cycle. You’re joining a team that’s passionate about making a positive impact and we’re excited to have you be part of it.

One of the things that makes WSP special is our strong tradition of giving back, both nationally and within our local communities. Through our Corporate Giving Programme, the WSP Foundation offers matched funding, laptop donations, and legacy grants; our Charity of the Year programme currently supports Macmillan and the Irish Cancer Society, and our International Development Programme helps communities around the world access essential services. There are always opportunities to volunteer with local charities and community groups. Whether you’re passionate about global causes or making a difference closer to home, there’s something for everyone and we can’t wait to see how you’ll get involved.

Volunteering is a meaningful part of life at WSP and plays an important role in our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments. Whether you choose to volunteer personally, as part of a project, or through a client initiative, it’s a powerful way to give back - enhancing lives in our communities while also supporting your own wellbeing. You’ll have two main ways to get involved: you can arrange your own volunteering activity through a local registered charity or community group, or you can sign up for one of the many opportunities promoted by our charity partners. However you choose to contribute, your time and skills can make a real difference.

One of the things we’re most proud of is our commitment to building an inclusive culture. One where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to thrive. Inclusion at WSP means embracing our differences and creating a workplace where individuals can flourish while coming together as a high-performing team. We’re focused on ensuring that everyone has equal access to opportunities and resources and can contribute fully to our shared success. Our Inclusion & Belonging (I&B) approach is central to this, helping us unlock the full potential of our people while strengthening our innovation, competitiveness, and appeal as an employer. You’re joining a company that truly values you for who you are, and we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make.

At WSP, safety isn’t just a policy. It’s a core value that’s deeply embedded in everything we do. From your first day, you’ll notice that health, safety, and wellbeing are treated as shared responsibilities across the business. Our approach is proactive and people-focused, encouraging everyone to lead by example and speak up when something doesn’t feel right. This is captured in our “don’t walk by” mindset, which empowers all employees to report hazards and promote safe behaviours without hesitation. Our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System is robust and globally recognised, certified to ISO standards for quality, environment, and occupational health and safety. It’s designed to support you not only in the workplace but also in your wider life because we believe safety is a lifestyle, not just a work requirement.
