HyNet North West Hydrogen Pipeline: Leading the UK's net zero journey with hydrogen

Pre-feasibility design work and planning work for a pioneering hydrogen project that will put the UK at the forefront of net zero innovation. At WSP, we’ve advised gas distribution company Cadent as they lead this energy transition project through its lifecycle and to provide a new way to power the UK’s industry and communities.

Penyrheol Solar Farm, Caerphilly

WSP advised Caerphilly Country Borough Council on the planning submission for the largest publicly owned solar farm in Wales, and the first council-led Development of National Significance validated by Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW).

Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

Courtice Water Pollution Control Plant

An Integrated Resource Recovery (IRR) strategy was developed for the Courtice Water Pollution Control Plant and was a first step towards the sustainability of this 68.2 MLD plant. The study searched for technical solutions to derive value from the plant’s waste and to minimize its inputs. The results not only brought focus to the Region, which lead to the IRR option to pursue further into the design and implementation phase, but also immediate improvements with the implementation of short-term solutions.

Supporting the refurbishment of Ffestiniog Power Station

Ffestiniog Power Station is a water pumped storage site in Snowdonia National Park. Having provided a source of flexible, reliable power to north Wales for over 50 years, two of the station’s four water turbines need to be replaced.
