McDonald’s Opens First Net-Zero Restaurant at Disney World

WSP USA provided mechanical-electrical-plumbing engineering and energy analysis for the carbon-neutral fast-food establishment.

The interior of the restaurant is dominated by daylighting to minimize the use of artificial lighting, and sensors will selectively turn off light zones to reduce energy consumption.

The “V-shaped” canopy incorporates photovoltaic panels to absorb solar energy, and the parking lot light posts use photovoltaic panels to power each light.
