Leading multi-disciplinary professional services consultancy WSP has appointed two directors into its Property & Buildings business.
Matthew Scammels and Dr Ahmed Allam have joined as Innovation Director and Director, Fire Engineering respectively. Matthew will be based in the firm’s Mailbox office in Birmingham and Ahmed in WSP’s UK headquarters in London.
As Innovation Director, Matthew has joined the digital innovation team, supporting Dale Sinclair, Head of Digital Innovation. The team works with private and public sector clients to shape innovative new ways of delivering projects, including the roll out of kit-of-parts and the increased use of offsite manufacturing as part of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) processes.
With over 20 years’ experience in delivering innovative, industrialised construction-focused projects, Matthew will focus on leveraging WSP’s multi-disciplinary design and innovation capabilities to deliver sustainable and pioneering solutions within the Property and Buildings business.
Dr Ahmed Allem has joined WSP’s Fire Team as a Director within the WSP Fire Leadership Team. Lead by Head of Fire, Nelson Morgado, the team works with clients to deliver holistic fire engineering strategies which enable them to protect their buildings, people and their businesses.
Ahmed is a Fellow and Chartered Engineer of the Institute of Fire Engineers with a background in major infrastructure projects, investment and assurance. Ahmed is also involved in research and development with several prestigious educational and research institutions across Europe, the Middle East and the UK. With a wealth of experience, Ahmed will focus on developing innovative performance-based fire engineering strategies for clients.
