Summer Internship Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the Early Access Pathway?

You will ideally be completing your second-to-last year of study for a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree before the summer break. You will be available to work full-time from mid-November to mid-February and have full-time work rights over the summer.

How do I apply for a Summer Internship at WSP?

We accept our applications online through our Early Access Pathway, which typically opens mid-March to July. When open, a link to apply will be available at the top of this webpage.

How do I know if I am eligible?

The Early Access Pathway is our application process and an opportunity to connect with WSP in the lead up to the recruitment process. With the Early Access Pathway, you receive priority review for our Summer Internships, our monthly Early Careers Insider bulletin, and exclusive invitations to events. Only roles not filled by Early Access Pathway candidates will be advertised.

What do I need to include in my application?

You will need a current copy of your CV and your most recent transcripts (an unofficial copy is acceptable, and we anticipate you will have courses pending results).

What degree disciplines do you recruit?

Check out the page below to see our list of degrees and disciplines:

What if I have already graduated?

Please view our current vacancies for other opportunities outside of our Summer Internships that are better suited to your skills, experience and interest.

What salary does WSP offer?

We offer a competitive salary, which varies slightly depending on your year of study.

When will I start working?

Our Summer Internships typically start once exams have finished in mid-November. Roles carry on through the Summer break, usually concluding in mid-February. There is some flexibility on start and end dates if required, so please be sure to specify your availability in your application.

Where can I work?

We have 24 offices across New Zealand. In addition to our main centres of Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton and Wellington, we have regional businesses across New Zealand from Whangarei down to Invercargill. We try to accommodate the preferences of individual applicants, however, because of the volume of applications, it is not always possible to offer you your first choice. The more flexible you can be regarding location, the more opportunities will be open to you.
