NZ Police wanted a modern and efficient workspace fit-out that would accommodate several teams and a number of the head office functions.
A key part of the brief was to move the staff from ‘siloed' and crowded offices into well designed open plan spaces that would encourage better sharing of information between teams.
We designed centralised utility spaces and shared storage facilities, as well as multi-functioning spaces for training, special operations and community meetings.
The staff had some concerns about moving from their old offices into an open plan environment. We addressed these by ensuring adequate shared meeting spaces, and quiet rooms and public meeting rooms, where staff could hold private conversations when needed.
