It’s never just a structure. It’s a record-breaking sky bridge connecting people 100 metres up in the air. A way to capture 200,000 gallons of precious rainwater every year. A spiral of inviting gardens 1,000 feet high, so everyone can enjoy the great outdoors. A reimagined town centre pioneering the use of reclaimed steel on a large scale. A state-of-the-art biologics lab precision-made from timber – bringing science and sustainability together.
Designing and delivering low carbon and net zero aligned places sits at the heart of what we do at WSP. Among other reductions in our building projects, we’re aiming to cut embodied carbon intensity across our building structures designs by 40% by 2027 from a 2020 baseline – having already reduced it by 29% between 2020-2025. We’ve also joined the Advance Market Commitment (AMC) for next generation low carbon concrete, ConcreteZero and SteelZero, underscoring our focus on accelerating industry progress and driving highly sustainable outcomes for our clients.
Sometimes the impact of our work stands in plain view – inseparable from the visionary architecture it makes possible. For others, it’s hidden deep within the fabric of a structure – making it safer and more resilient. What drives us is the limitless potential to make a positive impact through thoughtful, high-performing structural engineering solutions.
