During his career Will has developed innovative structural solutions for a number of structures and led the development of low damage building design as well as publishing numerous technical papers.
With strong design, communication and leadership skills and is focused on collaborative delivery, Will enjoys working with other organisations and disciplines. He thrives on having ideas considered and challenged in the pursuit of excellence.
He has made significantly contributed to the industry’s seismic knowledge, including being the co-technical lead of the NZ Seismic Isolation Design Guide, helping to develop the Seismic Monitoring Asset Reporting Tool and implementing the damage assessment indices and approaches for a number of earthquake damaged buildings.
Along with his seismic work, Will says his career highlights also include being the Civil and Structural Project Director for Scott Base Redevelopment and been recognised with a NZ Institute of Builders Collaboration Award for the Christchurch Outpatients Building.
Will says the big issues facing the industry include a need for greater focus on seismic engineering performance and resilience, in addition to code compliance and life safety.
