The plan involved the demolition of an existing three-storey building, and its replacement with a modern, two-storey police station with a landscaped area and car park.
The plan also retained an existing cell block that was part of the old station, and incorporated it into the new building's design.
The new building has a floor area of 2254sqm and houses 96 staff. The new development is robust in design and construction, in keeping with the functional requirements for a police station.
The design objectives considered the comfort and amenity of staff working in the building.
All staff workstations have a window and staff privacy is protected, with courtyards and solid fences incorporated into the design.
The building features clear circulation patterns and generous corridors.
