Water will grow our communities

WSP developed the technical component of the planning of a public-private partnership project for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a primary and secondary wastewater treatment.

When a foreign chemical appears in a municipal water supply, making it unsafe for human consumption, immediate action to locate and resolve the issue must take place. That’s exactly what happened, twice, in the City of Iqaluit, Nunavut, thanks to WSPs water team.

WSP’s innovative and efficient delivery model enables increased speed and reduced carbon emissions, for Wellington’s water and wastewater renewals.

Te Whanau a Maruhaeremuri Hapu Trust led a project to investigate and design a system to draw water from the Raukokore River, and build storage capacity and infrastructure to irrigate up to 1500ha of land in the Raukokore and Waihau Bay catchments. The landowners engaged WSP to provide specialised information and advice to identify the priority options for land use, undertake feasibility investigations of potential cropping options and find the best opportunities for long-term success.

WSP played a crucial role in the fast-tracked development of the City of Cape Town V&A desalination plant, feeding 2.0 megalitres of fresh water into the city’s network per day.

Peacocke is a semi-rural suburb in Southern Hamilton, and the city’s newest vibrant community. Hamilton City Council’s (HCC) Peacocke programme is delivering new strategic water, wastewater and stormwater networks to the community, which will eventually be home to 22,000 people.

Faced with numerous geographical challenges, WSP was part of the Alliance that engaged to undertake stormwater and hydraulic design services for the new Manawatū Highway.

Upgrading Westport’s drinking water supply. We supported Buller District Council to upgrade the Westport drinking water supply, without burdening the community with the cost.

At WSP, we understand that the farm is more than just another business: it’s a living, dynamic system that juggles all of the same responsibilities as a conventional business on top of a crucial responsibility for hundreds (or thousands!) of other lives.

WSP was engaged to help with the selection of a shed contractor and facilitate the conversion of their existing farm to dairy at Pleasant Point.

MAF commissioned WSP to lead the development of the Good Practice Guidelines for the Irrigation Acceleration Fund.

This water-led approach helped to create a shared local identity for an iconic, high profile urban environment and to help showcase and unlock the amazing transformation of Wynyard Quarter in Tāmaki Makaurau.
