CLIENT BRIEF/PROJECT CHALLENGES
To make effective long-term land use and investment decisions, the landowners required specialised information and advice to identify the priority options for land use and undertake feasibility investigations of potential cropping options looking for the highest opportunity for long term success.
The purpose of this project was to build on the findings and feedback from previously completed work and use this information to provide recommendations of future land use opportunities which align with the community goals.
OUR SOLUTION
WSP presented detailed maps of the overall Raukokore and adjacent Waihau Bay catchments, as well as results from feasibility investigations and recommendations for the 41 property blocks in the study area.
The results highlighted which land was suitable for high-value horticultural, pasture and grazing under irrigation or which areas were better suited for conservation or forestry.
