The certification will be undertaken in conjunction with our global aviation counterparts in New Zealand, Canada and the UK and showcases the strength of our ability to collaborate globally on key projects.
WSP in Australia will also leverage global expertise in airfield pavement design and aeronautical ground light systems design.
This is the third major package that WSP has contributed to in the development of Western Sydney International. Our role on the project will be to audit the quality processes and undertake targeted design reviews to confirm compliance with the program of requirements stipulated by the Commonwealth, and ensure the design and construction of the runway and supporting infrastructure goes to plan.
Mark Boone, WSP's Aviation Lead in Australia says, “This is the largest aviation project that WSP in Australia has worked on. In 2022 there will be up to 150 of our people working on the project across the packages we have been awarded.”
