Fiona Venn

National Discipline Director Property & Buildings
Fiona joined WSP in 2012 and has supported the growth of the Specialist Lighting Team from a national team of three designers in 2012 to a high performing team of 18 in 2023. Specialist Lighting is a creative and artistic engineering and design discipline, underpinned by technical expertise. Creatively, Fiona has won multiple architectural lighting design awards and is a founding artist for Sydney’s Vivid Sydney Festival.
Fiona is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of Australia and has served on the NSW Chapter Board of Directors. At UTS, Fiona is on the Illumination Design Science Masters student review panel and has taught the Masterclass in Lighting Design.
Applying a One WSP approach to her work, Fiona collaborates effectively across teams in an inclusive manner to provide creative lighting solutions in the built environment that enhance all aspects of the human experience from our senses, our emotions, to our health and wellbeing.
She is experienced in managing resources on multiple large-scale, complex projects across Australia and overseas. Fiona’s performance as a creative designer, technical expert and her engagement across P&B, as well as the broader organisation, has been exceptional.
Fiona's recent appointment to National Discipline Director within the Specialists and Property & Buildings Teams in 2023, shows her vision, leadership and diverse thinking about growth opportunities in key markets across Property & Buildings.
These strategic appointments support WSP's ESG position, align with our Strategic Plan 2022-2024, and assist in halving the carbon footprint of our design target.
