From Tuesday 4 October, we welcome 500 people to Mia Yellagonga in the heart of the CBD, creating a vibrant place for our people and clients to collaborate in shaping our future communities. Our new Perth office is located alongside many of our key clients and partners at Mia Yellagonga Tower 2, Level 2 & 3, 5 Spring Street. Our second Perth office is also located nearby at St George's Terrace.
A collaborative approach to workplace success
WSP was actively involved in the design process, drawing upon our internal expertise with contributions from Indigenous Specialist Services, Building Services & Structures, and Sustainability to design an office space centred around sustainability, collaboration, and wellbeing.
Doug Stewart, Regional Director for Western Australia (WA), says, “We’re delighted to finally bring the whole team together in one location. We are in an exciting growth phase in WA, and we have deepened our collective skills to better serve our clients. Designing and delivering complex projects requires collaboration between a wide range of specialists, and our new office will facilitate this.”
The new office is a Future Ready™ space where we will thrive in delivering successful solutions that are adaptive, resilient and sustainable.
The building features a 5-star Green Star rating and WSP’s Perth office is targeting a Fitwel rating to showcase a holistic approach to sustainability and occupant wellbeing. WSP embraced a Net Zero pathway for the office fitout. This will not only prepare for a future that values Net Zero carbon operation but also sets a precedent for commercial fitouts.
In addition, the design pays tribute to Australia’s traditional heritage. We engaged local Noongar artist, Peter Farmer, to bring an Indigenous narrative to the office. Peter’s artwork has been used in the lift lobby, meeting rooms and focus rooms. The artwork influenced the colour palettes of the flooring, wall colours and soft furnishings, Aboriginal patterns throughout meeting spaces, and a yarning circle in the communal staff area.
There are also sweeping views of Perth’s landscape and the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River).
