Designed with people and hybrid working at the forefront, and acknowledging the cultural practices of Indigenous people through art and storytelling, the new workplace is a Future Ready™ hub that fosters a sense of belonging for all.
After more than 10 years in our Southbank office, this is an opportunity to create an enhanced client experience and adopt a new agile way of working.
The new office is spread across three levels and offers quality accommodation. The are many collaborative spaces of various sizes and no shortage of wellbeing spaces – including rooms for reflection, wellness, multi-purpose, IT hub and computer modelling.
An impressive internal staircase connects the three floors, and a large balcony offers an outdoor space where people can work and relax.
Our team drew upon internal expertise including Indigenous Specialist Services, Building Services and Structures, and Sustainability, to develop a Future Ready workplace for people to thrive and deliver successful projects for clients.
Bridget Mainland, WSP’s Co-Regional Director for Victoria and National Executive of Contaminated Land Management, said, “We have put a lot of thought and planning into creating an engaging space that both our staff and clients will thrive in. The layout and design enables collaboration across our business units and the agile working environment will make it easy to brainstorm and foster an inviting work culture.”

Wellness, sustainability, and connectivity
The fitout design focused on incorporating spaces that enhance daylight, contact with nature and connectivity. There is a large selection of plants and sweeping views of Melbourne’s surrounds. The building attains a 5.5 Star NABERS Water rating and a 5.5-Star NABERS Energy rating. The Sustainability team is currently undertaking an in-depth lifecycle assessment for the project that will inform sustainable design and construction decisions such as materials, furniture, and fittings to minimise our environmental footprint and reduce operational and maintenance costs.
In addition, the design pays tribute to Australia’s traditional heritage through Indigenous-led designs, including artworks, Indigenous patterns, and a yarning circle. We commissioned three artworks by Uncle Steven Parker, a descendant of the Boonwurrung, Yorta Yorta and Erub (Torres Strait Island) people that are showcased in the lift lobbies. Uncle Steven’s work also influenced the colour palettes throughout the new office – from the flooring and wall colours to soft furnishings.
There is easy access to public transport and end-of-trip facilities. Southern Cross station is less than one minute walk away and there are a range of food options nearby.
Our new Melbourne office is open from 2 November 2022 and is located at Level 11, 12, & 13, 567 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000.
