Calibre provides leading consulting and engineering services to the mining sector and has a long track record of delivering successful projects and outcomes with blue-chip, resources sector clients.
Guy Templeton, CEO WSP Asia Pacific said, “Calibre’s team of 800 professionals build on the technical expertise Golder Associates brought to WSP two years ago. This acquisition significantly expands our footprint in the Mining & Energy sector, enhancing our capabilities and adding important experience to WSP’s business. It is also a sign of our commitment to clients and communities in Western Australia where we can now offer a broader and more diverse range of services.”
Adrian Chapman, Calibre’s Executive General Manager said, “Combined, our businesses form a highly capable firm ready to play a key role in supporting the mining industry. Together we can offer a more holistic service from front-end to project delivery, and from remediation to community engagement. We will deliver true value to major projects beyond mine sites and bring WSP’s ESG service offering to a wider client base.”
Mr Templeton added, “The energy transition cannot progress without the mining industry – specifically iron ore – which is essential to meeting increased global demand for steel. Joining with Calibre augments our ability to play a leading role in this critical and accelerating energy transition in Australia and across the globe.”
Acquiring Calibre brings WSP’s Australian business to around 6,000 people, with 1,300 based in Western Australia.
