A vision carved into the landscape

Located in a striking desert setting, Desert Rock is part of Red Sea Global’s vision for regenerative tourism, one that protects, enhances, and celebrates the natural world. From its inception, the project demanded innovative thinking to ensure both minimal impact and exceptional guest experience.

WSP served as the lead engineering consultancy, providing a comprehensive range of services. These included building services, structural engineering, utilities, façade design, audiovisual and ICT solutions, and site design guardianship. The close collaboration with Red Sea Global ensured that engineering solutions met the project’s ambitious environmental and aesthetic goals.

This project demonstrates that luxury, sustainability, and technical excellence can go hand in hand. Desert Rock sets a precedent for how the built environment can respect and elevate its natural surroundings.

Sustainability at the heart of the design

A key focus of the project was achieving LEED Platinum certification under the BD+C Hospitality rating, one of the most rigorous standards in sustainable building.

WSP’s sustainability team led the certification process from the early design stages through to construction. This included detailed energy modelling, sustainability reviews, material assessments, and on-site audits to ensure every aspect of the development aligned with Red Sea Global’s regenerative goals.
