Enhancing senior living
From estates to independent living units, dementia wards, social housing and low-rise town houses through to multi-storey buildings, WSP has proven expertise in aged care. We place the wellbeing of residents, patients and care staff at the heart of our approach to delivering facilities that enable a high standard of care while increasing operational efficiencies.
Our extensive multi-disciplinary capacity enables us to provide a full range of design and environmental consultancy services at every stage of a project – from strategic planning and analysis through to engineering and construction, as well as maintenance and operations. We have a long history of innovation, as well as a reputation for imaginative thinking coupled with common sense solutions that incorporate cutting edge technology. The aged care facilities we create perform well throughout their lifetime and make a positive contribution to society and the environment.
Enabling sustainable design and energy efficiency
As specialists in both the aged care sector and environmentally sustainable design, we’ve delivered some of the world’s most efficient buildings. We understand how to minimise energy and water consumption and maximise fresh air and natural light without compromising safety.
Focused on creating facilities that perform across their whole life cycle, we consider everything from the design of the building envelope to the use of low embodied carbon building materials requiring minimal travel distance. We evaluate the threats and opportunities that the future may hold, from evolving technology and changing resident needs, to extreme weather and disaster scenarios.
Our overall aim is to minimise the carbon footprint of aged care facilities and deliver amenities to communities that minimise environmental impacts, improve the end-user experience and promote wellbeing.
We are passionate about green building design and our teams help clients achieve the highest levels of sustainability through low-energy and low-carbon solutions that address climate change challenges. Our green design specialists also help clients achieve sustainability certifications such as LEED, BREEAM and Green Star.
We excel at creating state-of-the-art facilities that maximise the users’ comfort while delivering energy efficiency. And, we enhance the energy efficiency of existing facilities by installing systems that use the latest technologies to create significant cost savings.
