For customers to travel in comfort while covering large distances quickly, high-speed rail uses specialised rolling stocks and dedicated tracks, which require heavy investment. However, high-speed rail is becoming the standard for energy-efficient transportation, as it provides a solution to congested roads and airports, linking major cities together.

WSP is a global leader in the creation of high-speed rail networks with services ranging from planning to engineering and environmental review to construction management.

In Asia, we are involved in the design and implementation of high-speed lines in China, Korea and Taiwan. In the UK, we are part of the project team for High-Speed 2. In the US, we are involved in all HSR projects linked to the proposed development of a network of over 27,000 km (17,000 miles) by 2030.
