Located approximately 20 km east of Stawell in Victoria, the Bulgana Green Power Hub is Neoen Australia’s 194 MW wind and storage facility. The hub will have 56 wind turbine generators and a 20 MW/34 MWh Tesla lithium-ion battery. The integrated energy project is unprecedented in terms of its scale and technology.
Helping to Mitigate Technical Risks
As Independent Engineer, WSP undertook a technical due diligence for the project lenders prior to financial close. We identified risks, gaps, and deviations from the Australian industry standards. We also provided an Independent Energy Yield Assessment for the wind farm for the financiers.
During the construction phase, we are providing Lenders’ Independent Engineer services. This involves monitoring and reporting on construction progress and compliance to the technical EPC Contract requirements for the Lenders and endorsing the drawdown of debt funds during the works.
World’s First Agricultural Facility Fully Powered by Renewable Energy
Construction began at the Bulgana Green Power Hub in May 2018. Once complete, the hub will generate over 740,000 MWh of electricity for the national grid each year, making a major contribution towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It will power 130,000 homes and provide secure and reliable energy to Nectar Farms, a new advanced agriculture facility in Stawell. Nectar Farms will be the first ever crop facility that is fully powered by renewable energy.
