Activation of the public realm
The atrium is a key design feature, providing a covered public plaza that connects Claremont Street to Daly Street, which can be utilised by pedestrian traffic from the South Yarra train station and Chapel Street shopping and dining district.
Featuring climbing greenery and timber-look trellis, the striking atrium activates the public realm by offering a welcoming place for residents, and visitors to enjoy, along with a three-level co-working space.
To enable the activation of the ground plane, we developed custom sub-stations that have been installed within the atrium.
High-performing building design
Our sustainability team worked closely with the architect to achieve a high-performing building that will provide an average 7 Stars NatHERS rating.
A range of initiatives have been incorporated to enable energy efficiency, including 10kW of solar panels installed on the rooftop, along with careful selection of lighting and fixtures.
A 40kL rainwater tank has been fitted to reduce water usage, by collecting rainwater that can be reused for toilets and irrigation.
We also helped our client achieve a high-performing façade, by undertaking energy modelling and providing guidance on the selection of glass for the façade.
