WSP appointed design partner for Sydney Metro West Linewide

WSP has been appointed by John Holland as part of the design consortium for the Sydney Metro West Linewide project, a major milestone in delivering one of Australia’s most significant public transport investments.

WSP’s appointment builds on its proven track record, having delivered key roles on the Northwest and City & Southwest rail lines. For the Linewide project, WSP will partner with AECOM for the design of critical rail infrastructure, including tunnel ventilation, power, lighting, drainage, and fire systems.

The Sydney Metro West project will deliver a new 24-kilometre underground railway, connecting Parramatta and the Sydney CBD.

This project is set to transform the way people move across Sydney, providing faster, more reliable, and more accessible transport options for generations to come.

The Sydney Metro West project is expected to create 10,000 direct jobs and 70,000 indirect jobs, supporting economic growth and local industry. The line is scheduled to open in 2032, providing a vital link that will help shape the future of Sydney’s transport network.
