The building will enhance the dynamic learning environment offered by the university and further their innovative educational practices with more than 60 formal and informal learning and teaching spaces.
Currently sitting as the largest development on site, the precinct delivers 28,000m² of teaching space and houses the Education faculty across four levels.
Our Structural and Civil engineering team were engaged from early works through to completion of the project, including the stormwater drainage and pavement design for the landscape redevelopment of the southern precinct, a high traffic area used by pedestrians, cyclists and as a transit interchange.
An 836-space underground car park has also been developed adjacent to the Learning and Teaching Building, providing increased access for users of the southern precinct.
Key innovative features of the Learning and Teaching Building include the 25-metre span transfers over the three ground floor lecture theatres, and an impressive 23 x 70 metre structural timber roof.
