Funded by the Australian and Northern Territory Governments, the $160 million development was completed in August 2018, providing a modern and contemporary health facility with a range of specialised health care services for the region.
Our team integrated the design of the new hospital services, including an emergency department, day procedures, and in-patient, maternity and ambulatory health care services. New medical imaging modalities were also incorporated by the hospital, including CT, Fluoroscopy, X-ray, ultrasound and forward planning for MRI.
The hospital has been designed to adhere to building certifications, including the Importance Level 4 loading parameters and debris protection, for operation after a cyclone event.
The hospital site is located on a large, centralised 45-hectare site, near the new Stuart Highway and Temple Terrace intersection, providing space for future expansion.
