President and CEO, ANZ
Guy Templeton leads our operations in Australia and New Zealand. Responsible for a team of 5,200 people based in 62 offices across the two countries, he is a member of the global executive team.
Prior to WSP’s acquisition of Parsons Brinckerhoff from Balfour Beatty, Guy led various services and the construction business for the Asia Pacific region. His experience includes serving as chief executive of Minter Ellison lawyers and as Managing Partner at PA Consulting Group.
Director of Transport
Charlie Jewkes leads our transport business in Australia.
For the past 12 years, Charlie has held a variety of leadership roles in the infrastructure engineering space. He has a strong track record in business management and the delivery of a wide variety of projects for clients worldwide. Charlie is a chartered engineer with more than 20 years’ experience as a geotechnical and tunnelling engineer.
Director of People
Leanne Whicker leads the human resources function for our Australian business.
With extensive experience in professional services spanning more than two decades, Leanne works with key functions in the firm to drive rapid growth, change and high performance with a focus on talent. As a registered organisational psychologist, she brings a strong evidence-based approach to human resources initiatives that deliver results.
Chief Financial Officer
George McMillan leads our finance and operations function in Australia and New Zealand.
With WSP for a decade, George has held a series of finance roles with the firm in Asia and Australia. Focused on increasing efficiency and effectiveness, George is passionate about adding value to our business. He is an accountant with an MBA in finance.
Director of Resources
Sam Bennett leads our resources and business in Australia, providing professional project and construction management services as well as engineering design to the mining, resources and industry sector.
A civil engineer by trade, Sam has extensive experience in the delivery of complex, major projects within both private and public sectors, including mining, rail, highways, power, airfield and urban redevelopment, from heavy civil engineering through to control systems and communications.
Director of Clients, Marketing & Communications
Melissa Gunnsmith is the Director of Clients, Marketing and Communications with responsibility for the WSP brand in Australia.
Previously, she worked at Deloitte Australia as National Marketing Director and before that held business development and marketing roles with legal, accounting, advisory and design professional firms including Piper Alderman, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Sparke Helmore.
General Counsel, Asia-Pacific
Grant Smallhorn General Counsel Asia Pacific, and company secretary of our Australian operating companies. He also is the chair of the ANZ Risk Management Committee.
Grant was previously the General Counsel for Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) in Asia, Australia, the Pacific and Southern Africa operations, during the period of Balfour Beatty ownership of the PB group. Prior to that, he served as General Counsel – International, which encompassed all non-North American operations of PB. He holds a bachelor of law with honours from the Queensland University of Technology.
Director of Environment
Jenny McMahon leads our environment business in Australia.
An experienced environmental professional, Jenny has a proven track record in the provision of strategic advice and assurance together with leading effective teams. She has managed numerous multidisciplinary environmental audits and worked across a range of industries. She is a scientist who is well versed in environmental legislation.
Director of Water
Dean Toomey leads our water business in Australia.
With more than 24 years of experience in the water industry, Dean is accountable for delivery of projects across the country. His technical experience lies in planning design and constructability of water assets.
Dean is a civil engineer with a personal commitment to safety in the workplace and in the design and delivery of projects.
Director of Power
Paul Williams leads our power and energy business in Australia.
For more than 20 years, Paul has provided advice to power generators, network businesses, market operators, network businesses, market operators, financiers, investors and regulators – to assist them in executing projects successfully and power new infrastructure across developing and growing communities. He is a geomatics engineer with a passion for helping our clients transition towards a more diversified energy future.
Director of Property & Buildings
Rob Clarke leads our Property & Buildings business in Australia.
With the firm for more than two decades, Rob previously led our Building Services team. He has been involved in significant building projects both nationally and in the UK. Rob maintains a client centric focus with key strengths in project leadership. He is an electrical engineer with a passion for client service excellence.
Managing Director of New Zealand
Ian Blair leads the newly combined business of WSP Opus in New Zealand.
Prior to this and since joining WSP in June 2017, Ian was Managing Director of Opus New Zealand and Australia. He has earnt his reputation in the banking industry as an experienced financial services leader with a proven ability to bring about transformational change.
Chief Information Officer
Robyn Gillespie is the CIO for both Australia and New Zealand. In this new and expanded role for the region, she is responsible for managing the firm’s IT strategy and computer operations.
Robyn was formerly the GM of IT & Operations for WSP Opus and before that held the role of GM of IT at Downer. In a career spanning 30+ years, she has gained extensive experience in both the public and private sector working on leading edge projects including delivering AI and machine learning.
