Site visit to an urban development project in a former air force base 20 km west of Copenhagen

At the former Værløse air force base, Furesø Municipality has developed several terraced housing developments with a focus on sustainability, density and shared housing communities. The Mayor of Furesø Municipality will welcome and talk about the Municipality's visions for the project and why they are actively working to establish shared housing communities.

Afterwards, Søren Gabriel and Patrick Martinussen from WSP-Denmark will share their experiences in developing shared housing communities in collaboration with developers and municipalities.

Ofri Eran, who has been responsible for the project Happy Home (https://henninglarsen.com/no/news/archive/2022/11/10-happy-home ), will finally talk about the importance of the first step on the path to ensuring happiness is considered in design by providing a much-needed blueprint for building homes and communities that are truly receptive to the needs of their inhabitants.

The urban development project focuses on fitting 420 new sustainable homes into a large recreational nature area. This has been done taking into account the surrounding nature, sustainable building methods and energy supply and with the active aim of creating new shared housing communities that will drive activity and unity in the area.

The arrangement is free of charge.
